Species Information

Species Rules

  • You can obtain species characters in different ways: Make Your Owns, Raffles, Customs, Trades and Sales. Once obtained a species character you may name the character, create personality and background information.

  • The origin of each species character must be the same or similar what the main lore says, apart from that you can include your character in any kind of story as long as you do not alter/edit the original lore. Alternate Universes are okay.

  • You are allowed to change the design as long as it is minor. With minor we mean things such as: Swapping colors, change or fix some markings, add accessoires/scars/clothings and change the appearance of traits such as removing or adding fur/hair/scales/ect (if your character has this specific trait) to a certain degree. Anything not seen as 'minor' will need a Trait Change item. If you are unsure, please don't hesitate to ask.

  • Please do not alter the original artwork, instead you may draw your own to apply changes. If you struggle to do this on your own you can ask other people to draw it for you.

  • If you purchase a character that is drawn by someone else please make sure to credit this person for the artwork/design. You may add the character to your Toyhouse or similar sites if wanted.

  • Customs are made by either official designers or the species/world owner himself. Restrictions need to be discussed first.

  • MYOs can be traded, Custom slots cannot.

  • You are allowed to trade your character.

  • Reselling is fine as long as the character is labeled as re-sellable.

  • Make sure each of you know the rules and that you are trading/selling an offical species character.

  • If the character you want to sell/trade comes with additional art or items you may change the sell value to a higher one. This also goes for species character obtained in art trades.

Soullurker

The first Soullurkers to exist were a two headed Wyvern and an Unicorn that appeared in the middle ages. They belonged to two humans, a King and a Queen. Both were like two sides of a coin; the King a cold and merciless monster; the Queen soft, humble and understanding. Despite their opposing personalities they were meant for each other, both outweighted their negative traits and made them one of the greatest leaders around that time.
Their Lurkers were the same in terms of personality. The Wyvern, Wagir, was a gigantic monster, fierce and brutal. He was used to fend off enemy armies, to protect this land. The Unicorn, Eiryn, was quiet and friendly bringing fertility to this lands. People never had to fear starvation and diseases. Due to Soullurkers longevity their Gards lived for over 250 years, ruling this land undefeated. However, they cannot live forever and they came to a point were death was creeping sooner and sooner. The King feared death like nothing else, he wanted to exist forever in this world - so he decided there was only way: dark, forbidden magic. The Queen was against it firstly but even she was afraid of dying, so were their Lurkers.
A ritual was performed to fuse a human with a Soullurker, to fuse souls and bodies together. It was extremely risky but it was their only solution. The result was the King fusing with Wagir and the Queen with Eyrin, their memories, their personalities and powers where melted with each other. Successfully they have turned into one with elemental bodies and immortality. However their powers grew stronger than expected, destroying their bodies and sanity. At this moment, they knew their presence could potentially destroy the planet. With Eiryn and Wagir's disappearance, it left the Kingdom in confusion and destruction. Fertility gone, enemies enslaving people and conquering this land. The Kingdom fell.
The Emptiness
The Emptiness is a special realm or a so-called 'Pocket Universe' between all existing dimensions. It has no particular environment, always changing in appearance as whatever the Great Ones want it to be. Most of the time it appears as a surreal light room, floating fragments looking like glowing gem shards that are pulsing in many different colors and shapes. White clouds are always hovering just above the ground to give you the feeling of walking on air. Physical bounds do not work in this realm. Any Soullurker can enter this with a physical projection of themselves, able to talk with other Lurkers from across the globe and even from different dimensions. This is also the only place where you may be lucky to find one of the Great Ones - Wagir and Eiryn.
Soullurkers are the protector of souls, especially those from their Gards. Both the Gard and their Lurker may choose to protect other souls as well by fending off their arch nemesis: Deathlings.
Deathlings steal souls and like to target Gards with their Lurkers as their souls are extremely worthy. Both species are in a constant fight.
The hatred towards Soullurkers also comes from the fact that Selbracs had to leave the planet earth due humans hunting them down but Soullurkers were welcomed to stay. It was unfair in Deathlings eyes.

Four legged lanky and very flexible creatures, usually long and skinny as they do not possess any internal organs except for blood, muscles and bones. Soullurkers are the physical manifestation of a person's soul, a host, so called Gard. They take on similar personalities and appearances as their Gards, often matching in colors, markings or clothings. As they are basically the soul of their Gard they are connected with each other nonstop, they cannot be separated and if tried it will result in death of both. They communicate telepathically to both their Gard and with others.
A Gard must be ten years old (may differ depending on what species the Gard is) for a Soullurker to develop and feed on their host's dreams until strong enough to manifest them in a physical appearance. SL's are visible to their Gard at all times but can become visible or invisible for others.
As mentioned Soullurkers entirely feed on dreams, either their Gards or from other creatures (may differ with sub-types). While feeding they do not cause any harm but sometimes are able to alter dreams. They do not have any digestive system nor other organs, they exist through the power of their Gard and need no such things. They have no mouths nor any other body-fluids other than blood/glowgel. Their bones and muscles are flexible which gives them the ability to twist around in many poses and directions. Bones are unbreakable but can be damaged/destroyed through sharp weapons.
Their most distinct features are the glowy areas around their throat, butt and tail called glowgel. The large, single eye on their face is also typical for this species. The glow is produced by their blood which has, when dripping from open wounds, the same texture and color as these areas. Soullurkers have rather large feet which resemble those of reptilians or humans and may have an opposable thumb. Another feature is their tail which is segmented, each piece is connected by magic and can be used like any other tail. Segments may vary in size and lengths. This species has a wide variety of traits which gives them the ability to look as individual as possible.
Soullurkers are born genderless with no reproductive organs or vocal cords at all (sub-types can create noises). The only way to kill them is to kill their Gard.
Soullurker can be any size from below 1 meters up to 10 meters. Same goes for their subtypes.

Soullurker have no trait system except for the Glowgel parts.
Blue = Common, Purple = Mythical.

Felurker

common subtype

This cat looking sub-type is also very commonly seen. Their personalities vary and are known for their sudden mood swings. Just like Lurkerdogs their appearances and sizes vary greatly, taking on domesticated or wild breeds - even the mighty sabertooth. Felurkers can digest food and produce hairballs.

Lurkerdog

common subtype

It happens quite often that a newborn Soullurker takes on a canine appearance, making a great companion and protector. Their personalities are often very similar to their Gard. Unlike average Soullurkers, Lurkerdogs can digest physical food. The size and appearances of Lurkerdogs vary greatly, they can take on many different dog and wolf breeds from the gentle Great Dane to the fierce Chihuahua.

Soulbird

common subtype

Soulbirds come in so many shapes and forms it is hard to keep track of them. They are always appearing avian including extinct animals such as the Dodo and even flying reptiles, penguins, ostriches, archaeopteryx, sparrows, condors, argentavis. The list is endless. They have vocal cords and are capable of learning languages or imitating noises/voices. Soulbirds also have a digestive system.

Mimic

mythical subtype

Mimic completely ignores the body restrictions and will turn a Lurker into something very similar or even same to what their Gard looks like. They can even become something human looking with a mouth. The only exception is that the single sye on the face and glowgel has to be present. There is no size restrictions either. This is a very rare mythical subtype and can only obtained via special events. Once obtained a Mimic Slot, you can either turn an already existing SL into a Mimic or create a new design.

extra subtypes

Dwarf and Gigantism

Dwarfism and Gigantism is found in Soullurkers which alters their size, body weight and length of limbs drastically. Other subtypes may be affected by this. This subtype can be used with no restrictions.

Hollow and Ghoul

Hollows are Soullurkers which Gard has died. Their soul will vanish and all that will be left is a body left full of anger and hate. A hollow is extremely dangerous. Gard's have an extended lifespan through their SL companions but they still can die through sickness and aging. Most Gards can reach up to 150 to 200 years when their bond is healthy and strong. The soul of a Gard is the most important part in this bond, souls can be damaged through incidents such as traumatizing events. Whenever a soul gets damaged, it will damage the SL aswell often resulting in physical or mental damages such as ghoul appearances or mental sickness similar to disabilities or OCDs. In very rare cases a SL can become hollow. If a Gard dies naturally, the SL only has a slight chance of becoming hollow depending on how strong the bond between both of them were. Still, after a Gards death - if it was naturally - the SL is still connected to a part of their soul and can still communicate with their Gard at some point. If a Gard dies unnaturally the SL has a very high chance of becoming hollow. Unnatural events may be death by accident, murder, suicide, experiments and so on. All in all, a SL is an individual and each reacts differently to the death of their Gard. Lurkerdogs seem to react very negative to the loss of their Gard, they have a higher chance to become hollow due their loyal behaviour while Felurkers are the opposite.
It is up to the owner of the design if they decide to have a hollow or not, just be aware that traits commonly found on a ghoul (zombiefied, large wounds, goop, dark glows, etc) are still mythical traits. You are able to turn normally looking SLs into hollows without having these traits - which includes having faded colors (not glow), less strong glow (must remain vibrant unless your SL has dark colored trait) and scars/wounds to a certain degree. Removed limbs are also a possibility. You may make your SL very malnourished/skinny if you wish to do so! Ghoulish would be big open wounds leaking blood/glow with skeleton and flesh showing as well as ripped off limbs/skin and parasites/fungal growth on the body.
Ghouls are the mythical form of a Hollow. Ghoul is a mythical trait turning the whole Soullurker into a Zombiefied version of it's past self. It is flexible and can change the body drastically to make them look sick, half-dead, zombiefied and creepy. There is no restrictions.

Deathling

Deathling originally are descendants of Annyfen's Hounds; a group of canids protecting the planet Annyfen. Said planet is within a seperated, hidden dimension connected with ours and is inhabitated with a species called Selbracs who are mostly anthromorphic or feral creatures looking similar to earth's fauna but with much more intelligence. The Queen of this species is Irohja. Selbracs use souls as primary energy which they receive from collectors - the Deathlings. The Soul Reactor was in the center of the planet always guarded by at least two Hounds. However, on a tragic day an earthquake shook the planet and two Hounds fell into the reactor. After being pulled out their state was extremely unstable, releasing uncontrollably souls and magic which were already contaminated with Hound DNA. And to their surprise those souls formed into creatures now called Deathlings. It was called the chaotic season.
The first Deathlings looked like dogs but with rather distorted bodies; they were full of magical powers and were sent to collect souls from other universes - or more likely steal them. One of the first ones were Otumeel who is now a Royal Guard of the Queen herself. After a few months the hounds learned to control their magic and no more Deathlings were accidentally born, now they reproduce in a different way. From this point on, Deathlings only purpose is to collect as many souls as possible to donate those souls in exchange for wealth and status. They are Irohjas favorite children.
Each year in September they celebrate the 'Soul Festival' in which they show off the amount of souls they have collected to trade them for other goods and wealth. It could be compared to the Day of The Dead South-Americans celebrate. All souls collected will be sent to the reactor to power the planet for another year.
As a result of hunting down souls another species - Soullurkers - became one of their arch nemesis. Soullurker souls are an extremely wanted resource and gives a Deathling the status of a Prime Hunter, which means they are respected and wealthy - almost like a royal. Most Deathlings will wear them as a trophy or trade them for magical powers. The hatred towards Soullurkers also comes from the fact that Selbracs had to leave the planet earth due humans hunting them down but Soullurkers were welcomed to stay. It was unfair in Deathlings eyes.

Deathlings appear feral or anthro and resemble the anatomy of a Doberman/German Shepherd mix. They have a slight sloped back, a large tail, pretty strong legs with big paws and retractable claws. Their main feature is transparent skin on most of their chest, belly and tail with guts and bones shining through. Guts/bones visibility can vary. Their blood is called Glowgel and may be any color with gradients or textures. Some even have items stuck within it for some odd reason.
Their appearances can vary greatly! They can come covered in fur, feathers or scales, can have wings or even fins. With 'fantasy' we mean any type of physical distortion may it be mutations or magical causes. Growth such as fungal, floral or mineral, extra limbs, multiple wings/tails, goopy bodies, large open wounds/zombified looks. Scars and amputations however are commonly seen.
Deathlings feed on prey they hunt, but they may be strict vegan or carnivore only, each DL differs. They have large upper canines that can inject paralyzing venom which will immobilize their victim after a few minutes. A Deathlings eye can be any color and pupil shape, but there always has to be two pupils and sometimes there can be two irises.
One very important thing is the Lantern, each Deathling receives an item that can hold a light source at the day of their birth which they collect souls with it. Souls are important to their society, they are a currency in Cyllar. Lanterns can be literally anything, from simple light bulbs and candles to complex looking items as long as they are somehow connected to the body and are able to hold souls within it. This does not have to be the tail. The more souls, the brighter the Lantern glows, which also means the more souls the more wealth a Deathling has.
New Deathlings are born when two adults come together, share their souls and place a lantern next to a round object. It only works once there's a purple full moon which is happening every three months in Cyllar. The round object can be made out of anything as long as it is hollow. It only takes a week or two for a baby DL to develop within the hollow object and another week for it to hatch. It's appearance may be similar to its parents or completely different depending on the souls.
Deathling sizes can vary between 1 meter to 5 meters. Ling can be smaller but never grow over 3 meters and Greater can become up to 10 meters tall.

Deathling have no trait system except for the Glowgel parts.
Blue = Common, Purple = Mythical.

Anthromorphic

common subtype

A common subtype is the Anthromorphic or 'Anthro' for short. Their bodies resemble a human like structure with feral features.

Darwfism/Gigantism

common subtype

Dwarfism and Gigantism is found in Deathlings which alters their size, body weight and length of limbs drastically. Other subtypes may be affected by this. This subtype can be used with no restrictions.

Ling

mythical subtype

Deathlings can be born with enlongated, snake/dragon like bodies. It is rare to be seen, turning their necks, chests/bellies and tails very long and thin.

Greater

mythical subtype

Large, very muscular versions of the regular Deathling. Those brutes are stronger but slower and less flexible.
